4 Tips for a Stress-Free Trip

at Team Voyagoux

Traveling can be quite stressful. After all, planning a long or distant trip always requires a lot of preparation.

You have to book all the tickets, pack everything, and make sure your accommodations, transportation, and local activities are all taken care of down to the last detail. In short, there’s plenty of reason to feel a little stressed here and there...

Fortunately, there are plenty of things you can do to reduce this stress and ensure that you can look forward to your vacation with relative peace of mind!

#1: Start packing early

One of the best tips to start with right away is to start packing early. It sounds like a cliché, but it turns out to be spot on every single time.

You often don’t need the things you’re packing during the last week at home. That applies to at least 80% of everything you’re taking on vacation. So it’s simply smart to just pack those things ahead of time.

The big advantage of this is that, little by little, you start to clear your head.

Another important reason to start early is that it helps you avoid starting your trip completely exhausted and stressed out. That all-too-familiar last-minute stress is something we could all do without.

#2: Make a checklist

And that brings us straight to thesecond tip, which will once again save you a lot of stress in the weeks and days leading up to your vacation.

Making a checklist is one of the best ways to avoid packing stress. Sit down for a moment and write a list of all the items you want to take with you on vacation.

Start with the most important items that have the highest priority, such as:

·        Passport

·        Visa

·        Travel insurance card

·        Hotel reservation

·        Debit card

·        Credit card

·        Charger

·        World Plug

·        Power bank

·        Pain relievers

·        Sunburn

Once you’re sure you’ve listed and laid out or packed all the essential items, move on to the less essential but still important items.

A checklist helps clear your mind. It prevents you from having to rely on your memory to remember everything. That’s bound to go wrong, because there are so many different things to keep in mind in the weeks and days leading up to your trip.

#3: Choose a safe, reliable suitcase (set)

And here’s a third tip you definitely shouldn’t overlook: choosing a safe, reliable suitcase (set).

When you're on vacation, you naturally take your suitcase with you almost everywhere. It's where all your (important) belongings are stored. That's why you absolutely must choose a high-quality suitcase.

A good, safe, and reliable suitcase has the following features:

·        Made from high-quality, shock-resistant, and lightweight material

·        Equipped with a reliable zipper with anti-theft protection

·        Elegant design for a stylish, luxurious look

·        360° wheels for a smooth, quiet ride

·        Includes a TSA lock for maximum security

These are all features that will ensure your trip goes smoothly, stress-free, and without a hitch. Ultimately, it all starts with the suitcase or set of suitcases itself. You could say that this is the most important item you take with you on a trip. Without suitcases, you won’t get anywhere!

#4: Leave room for spontaneity

Sometimes we feel the urge to plan every detail of a vacation in advance and fill it to the brim. We’re talking about scheduling every single hour of every single day you’re on vacation. You do this because you want to get the most out of it.

But what you often see in practice is that this causes quite a bit of stress. After all, there’s a lot to organize, and nothing can go wrong.

If you miss a bus or something runs late, you’re about to miss your next activity. This causes a lot of stress.

So leave room for spontaneity and don’t pack every day completely full. You’ll almost always be able to fill in the “gaps” in your schedule once you’re actually on location. After all, there’s often more than enough to do, including things you couldn’t have planned in advance.

After all, good preparation is half the battle. The result is a stress-free trip!
